Well guys…that was a bit of a shocker. Pamela is staying in New Zealand.
I don’t know about you all but it sure brought some emotions to the surface for me.
Some nice…some not so nice..

When her first announcement came out that she would be staying for an extra few months, I thought it was no big deal. After talking to a few you, I could see the possibility that we could still do most of the team training with just a few adjustments. I still think we can run these groups….

Saturdays “Team Ride” can still go ahead. Some simple planning and an email sent out around Wednesday or Thursday indicating route and time, things like that.

Tuesday morning runs…with a start time of 6 A.M. may be a bit tricky…if there are two people who want to run at that time then we have a group..a small one maybe, but it’s still a group.

Spin classes….we can even do these ourselves..why not, we’re all friends and we can take turns being the leader.

Well I think you can get the idea. I don’t see any reason why we can’t still organize and run our own training groups. I put this little Blog together because I thought we would need a central “place” to exchange information.
I know very little about Blogging but that is no reason not to give it a try.
Please email this link to any of the Team Pamelaens.ca members or anyone you think might want to join us in these workouts. I also ask that you post a comment or email me if your interested in the idea of staying together as a team.

Remember…most things in life are more fun with a partner!

Good job Ray. While I'm not training for Wildflower, I am training for IMC and would be interested in joining the group from time to time for some of the workouts. The spinning workouts sound great...you will post when and where?

Thanks Ray, you are always looking after us.

I too was very bummed to hear Pamela was not coming back, especially cause we had made big plans for group workouts in the fall. I signed up for Wildflower and will definately still do it. After chatting with a few people I realized that we can still do the workouts, we all have some experience and we will definately be a great source of support to each other. We will push when we need pushing and laugh when we need laughing, we can do it.

We'll be organizing a meeting shortly to set up some plans so stay tuned and we encourage everyone who is interested in the workouts to attend and give input.

Gary, I hear you bought a brand new bike, whoohoo, what kind and will it make you go fast?

Hey, I'm in. Not for everything but for sure some of the workouts. Those long rides are much more enjoyable with people to chat with.

Hey Ray, I am not doing Wildflower either, but IMC is on the horizon, so let me know what group workouts form up.

Cheers,

CS

FYI, these group workouts are not designed specifically for Wildflower, we'll accommodate all schedules as best as possible.

Ray, you are brilliant! Thanks for setting this up and bringing us together. I am planning on doing CDA, in june, and so would love to train with all of you, though I may at times have to go a wee bit further. I am sure that that between all of us, we will be able to pull together a training schedule that will meet everyone's needs. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

Excellent Ray. I am in for group workouts as well... I'm not doing Wildflower, but am doing 2 other half-irons as part of next year's schedule before signing up for IMC 2008. I'm also providing IMC training 'support' for Cam and anyone else who could use some (gives me a preview of what I'm signing up for). I'd be into helping with group workouts as needed. Plus, I like beer...

Thanks for setting this Blog up Ray and I'm looking forward to Wildflower and all the group workouts leading up to it!
