It's wet out here dad !

Happy New Year Team!

It's been a busy two weeks for me so I kind of let the blog slip a bit. Well Christmas is over and tonight is New Years eve. I've got my Champagne in the fridge. It's going to be a simple celebration tonight, after all, I have a two hour ride tomorrow morning followed by a light run.

The meeting that was plan last week never came together. So you Don't have worry about not making it. You can still be a part of pulling our 2007 training team together. Connie is trying to put together a ride/meeting group for next Saturday. We really need as many people to show up for this as possible so that we can get a group training schedule laid out. So please if you have time on Saturday morning ...keep it open for your training team meeting. Connie is back in town after spending time with her family....as always, she's pumped up and ready to go!

I'll post more info on this ride/meeting after I speak to her.

Now let me tell you about my new training partner. So far she has only agreed to train with me on the runs. She likes the water but hates to be seen in a bathing suit! Biking she has never tried and I really think she would get lots of looks if she did buy a new bike and take it out for a spin.

Her conditioning is great and she's plenty strong for a small blond weighting about a slender 90 pounds!

I've been playing with ways that we get display our training and racing photo's on the blog. So I gathered a few photo's of her and put them together. I hope this link will work for you but if it doesn't I'll keep trying until I find a way to get our photo's out there for everyone to enjoy.

Take care,

Ray

Well friends we seem to have had a pretty good response. It is clear that we can continue on with most, if not all of our group training.
I think the next logical step would be to have a team meeting. I was thinking we could meet on Saturday December 23rd in the morning at my house. We could all go for a ride around the peninsula then have a little meeting in my house after the ride. This is just the first stab at trying to put a meeting together, and I realize that not everyone will be able to make it. I also realize that some may want to only come for the meeting, no problem. If it looks like we can do it I’ll make it clear how long our ride will be then those who only want to attend the meeting can come to the farm at that time.
Let me know what you guys think about this idea….

I know some of you ran a great Stewart Mountain race….anyone care to give us their thoughts on the day?

Well guys…that was a bit of a shocker. Pamela is staying in New Zealand.
I don’t know about you all but it sure brought some emotions to the surface for me.
Some nice…some not so nice..

When her first announcement came out that she would be staying for an extra few months, I thought it was no big deal. After talking to a few you, I could see the possibility that we could still do most of the team training with just a few adjustments. I still think we can run these groups….

Saturdays “Team Ride” can still go ahead. Some simple planning and an email sent out around Wednesday or Thursday indicating route and time, things like that.

Tuesday morning runs…with a start time of 6 A.M. may be a bit tricky…if there are two people who want to run at that time then we have a group..a small one maybe, but it’s still a group.

Spin classes….we can even do these ourselves..why not, we’re all friends and we can take turns being the leader.

Well I think you can get the idea. I don’t see any reason why we can’t still organize and run our own training groups. I put this little Blog together because I thought we would need a central “place” to exchange information.
I know very little about Blogging but that is no reason not to give it a try.
Please email this link to any of the Team Pamelaens.ca members or anyone you think might want to join us in these workouts. I also ask that you post a comment or email me if your interested in the idea of staying together as a team.

Remember…most things in life are more fun with a partner!

Wildflower training team

Well team mates....here it is. ..simple and basic.

We will get more high tec later but for now the idea is just to pull everyone together and get started training!

Over the next few days I'll post some ideas for group training and if it all works out you guys can reply and tell me if you like the idea or if you have some ideas to make the training better and more fun....

my first idea...BEER AFTER EVERY WORKOUT !
